The author of this large and handsome book has combined his training as a linguist with his interest in mineralogy to provide an exhaustive listing of synonyms for mineral species names. As such it is an appropriate companion to Volume 1 in this series, the Encyclopedia of Mineral Names, reviewed in the Mineralogical Magazine (Vol. 62, p. 432).
