Abstract

The occurrence of Lepidocyclina in the upper Eocene to the lower Miocene of the Indian region is discussed, and the validity of the subgenus Trybliolepidina is supported. Two new species, Lepidocyclina Trybliolepidina) kathiawarensis Chatterji and L. (T.) raoi Chatterji, and one new variety, L. (Nephrolepidina) martini (Schlumberger) var. kamalae Chatterji, along with L. (N.) morgani (Lemoine and Douville) and L. (N.) borneenis (Provale), are described from the Gaj beds (lower Miocene) of Kathiawar, western India.
