The planktonic foraminiferal genus, Huberella n.gen., of the Family Heterohelicidae Cushman, 1927, is described from the Turonian (Upper Cretaceous) of the western North Atlantic and equatorial Pacific. It accommodates a lineage which is characterized by the development of lid-like chamber projections attached to the previous chamber of the row in the adult portion of the test. Development of these structures does not result in the presence of accessory apertures along the zigzag suture. Two species are included in this lineage, Huberella praehuberi n.sp. and H. huberi n.sp. The latter is designated as type species of the newly described genus.
