Abstract

"In the region of the classic locality of Rosignano, the highly developed Lepidocyclina (Nephrolepidina) tournoueri is accompanied by Miogypsina (Miogypsina) globulina. The associated planktonics mainly consist of Globoquadrina dehiscens and Globigerina globularis, with scarcer Globigerinoides triloba. The Burdigalian age of this fauna shows the persistence of the Lepidocyclinidae in the Miocene of the Mediterranean area."
