Abstract

Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary stages of New Zealand are correlated with Maestrichtian to Pliocene formations elsewhere, on the basis of foraminiferal zones. No microfaunal evidence has yet been found to establish the position of the Pliocene-Pleistocene boundary in New Zealand. Descriptive notes and figures for some previously described pelagic foraminifers and a description of Globigerina pseudoiota n.sp. are included.
