A systematic study of foraminifers from two upper Cretaceous-lower Tertiary sections in northern Sinai, Egypt; includes descriptions of many new species and varieties, and discussion of the stratigraphic significance of the fauna. The faunal zones in the two sections are defined and correlated, and the depositional history of the region is discussed in relation to intermittent compressional movements which produced a system of ridges and troughs associated with the Syrian arc.
