Abstract

The diatom assemblage of the Fisher Canyon deposit in Caddo County, Oklahoma, is described and its bearing on the depositional environment and the age of formation of the deposit is discussed. The diatom assemblage indicated a lake or pond environment of postglacial age rather than the Illinoisan or Wisconsinian age suggested by previous molluscan studies.
