Palynologic fossils considered to represent a new taxon have been recovered from rocks of the Cedar Valley Formation (Middle Devonian) of Winneshiek County, Iowa. The scanning electron microscope has revealed details of morphology not readily discernible in transmitted light miccroscopy. The new genus Dibrochosporites and the new species Dibrochosporites nodosus are erected for these fossils.
