Abstract

Palynological studies of Silurian and Devonian sediments of the Maranhao basin, northern Brazil, show that the geologic column there can be divided into palynological zones which can be recognized in other geological basins. Two new genera (Veliferites and Evittia) and four new species of Acritarcha are described, and twelve species of the subgroup Netromorphitae are revised.
