Abstract

Eighteen species of foraminifera, including four new species, are described from the Inter-trappean beds of the Pangadi area of eastern India. The foraminiferal fauna points to the prevalence of alternating marine and estuarine conditions of deposition. This is also supported by the ostracode fauna. The foraminiferal assemblage indicates an early Eocene age for these beds.
