The material for this systematic study of conodonts from eastern Victoria comes from localities in Buchan Caves limestone, Taravale mudstone, and Murrindal limestone members of the Buchan group, which previously had been regarded as middle Devonian in age. In comparison with lower Devonian conodont faunas of Europe, the conodonts here described indicate that the Murrindal limestone (uppermost member of the group) belongs to the lower Emsian (lower Devonian). New species of Eognathodus, Roundya, and Spathognathodus, and some new subspecies are represented in the material systematically described.
