Abstract

The new subspecies Globigerina woodi connecta, here described from Otaian stage beds of north Auckland, New Zealand, evolved from G. woodi woodi populations in the lower part of the stage in New Zealand and in the G. woodi zone of southeast Australia at about the same time, and represents an intermediate link between G. woodi woodi and Globigerinoides trilobus.
