Sopcheite, ideally Ag 4 Pd 3 Te 4 , is found in copper-nickel sulfide ores of the Monchegorsky Pluton, Kola Peninsula, USSR. Three grains of a mineral with similar characteristics, occurring in unusual intergrowths with kotulskite and merenskyite, were found in 1979 in a diamond-drill core from Lac-des-Iles, Ontario.
