COVER: Interleaved carbonate and quartzo-feldspathic metamorphic rocks in the immediate footwall of the Plomosa detachment fault. Note that the carbonate is plastically deformed whereas the quartzo-feldspathic rocks are much more strongly affected by brittle deformation. This would be expected for slow rock deformation at 200–300 °C. See “Geodynamics of Cenozoic extension along a transect across the Colorado River extensional corridor, southwestern USA” by Jon E. Spencer, John S. Singleton, Evan Strickland, Stephen J. Reynolds, Diane Love, David A. Foster, and Roy Johnson, https://doi.org/10.1130/L1002.1.
