COVER EXPLANATION.—Submarine-lobe deposits of the Upper Broto System located at the Cascada de Sorrosal, Broto, Spain. Alternating sandstone- and mudstone-rich packages are interpreted to represent compensational stacking of lobes. Deformation in the developing foreland basin resulted in thrusting and folding of the buried deposits prior to exhumation and excavation by the modern river. See Bell et al., this issue.
