We bow to Embry et al.'s superior knowledge of the chronostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy of the Arctic region and concede the inconsistency in our paper, particularly with respect to extension of the Shublik into the Early Triassic. We worked with the best age information available to us for the Shublik Formation (the same references cited by Embry et al.) and perhaps somewhat uncritically based our figure 1 on previous published stratigraphic columns....
