Abstract

"The granulometric character of the reef sandstones suggests an origin as offshore sands. Their macroscopic character, however, is typically that of beach rock, as is illustrated by a reef actually being formed. So the presumed origin of the sandstones is beach rock, but later changed in grain size composition by addition of finer material. Their age must be Recent, as a consequence of the Holocene sea level rise, every line representing a temporary still-stand."
