Sedimentary structures observed in lower Silurian graywackes of the Aberystwyth region, Wales, include thin light-colored bands nearly perpendicular to bedding planes and locally exhibiting double curvature, attributed to processes of autoinjection induced by early tectonic compression of the unconsolidated sediment, and double banding which may reflect deposition from two different types of turbidity currents.
