Chaetetes was found by the author only 1,085 ft. and 1,195 ft. above the base of the thick section of the Bird Spring formation (Mississippian-Pennsylvanian-Permian) N. of Lee Canyon, and stratigraphically between beds containing Profusulinella and Fusulinella. The Chaetetes-bearing beds in the Cordilleran region extend into the southern Nevada area. Confirmation of Atokan age must be based on relationship with fusulinids.
