Parapuzosia (Parapuzosia) has been found in the uppermost Austin chalk [Cretaceous] in Ellis, Dallas, and Collin counties in northern Texas where it is an excellent stratigraphic marker. Fragments of Parapuzosia (Austiniceras), found in Cenomanian and Turonian rocks of Europe, have been reported from Texas, and now the first Texas species is recorded from the upper Eagle Ford shale S. of Dallas.
