Abstract
"A new subfamily is proposed to include the genus Cythereis. It consists of three related genera, characteristic of the Jurassic, Cretaceous and Tertiary to Recent deposits respectively. Their genotypic species are described and figured. The evolution of the Cytheracea hinge is discussed, and three evolutionary trends recognized in the superfamily."
