Abstract
The coral Spongiomorpha is known from Triassic deposits from many parts of the world, and from the Torinosu limestone of Japan, generally accepted as Jurassic. It is described here from Cretaceous beds, and it is suggested that the Torinosu is not a single formation but a facies. Spongiomorpha (Heptastylopsis) miyakoensis n.sp. is described.
