Three described forms of Asterigerina are analyzed and shown to be three generations of the same species. It is pointed out that Foraminifera should not be named unless all three generations are known; only under such circumstances can they be used to obtain stratigraphic results without errors. The specimens of Tertiary Asterigerina studied were from drillings at Maris and Beeringen, Netherlands.
