Abstract

Recent studies have shown that the Dunham Dolomite (Lower Cambrian) accumulated in peritidal, open shelf and shelf edge environments (Gregory, 1982). Occurrences of Salterella conulata Clark in the Dunham Dolomite forms the basis for correlating this rock unit to other Lower Cambrian units in Vermont (Parker Slate) and elsewhere in the Appalachians (Vintage, Tomstown, and Shady dolomites).--Modified journal abstract.
