Abstract

Two crinoidal dorsal cups from the Moodys Branch Marl Formation, Jacksonian (Eocene) of Caldwell Parish, Louisiana, are described as Himerometra caldwellensis n. sp. and H. louisianensis n. sp. This detailed report of two new species, assigned with reservation to Himerometra, constitutes the first definitive descriptions of Tertiary comatulid crinoids from Louisiana.--Modified journal abstract.
