Abstract

Hitherto undescribed inarticulate brachiopods associated with Lapworth's famous Late Ordovician graptolitic shale succession at Dob's Linn, Scotland, are shown to belong to a single highly distinctive species group best accommodated as the genotype of a new taxon, Barbatulella lacunosa n. gen. and n. sp. Evidence is presented to show that the species was probably adapted to an epiplanktic mode of life.--Journal abstract.
