Abstract

Available fossils from the Skeels Corners Formation include 36 forms of mollusks, brachiopods, cystids, trilobites and problematica. Only one species is new, the trilobite Vermontella secunda. A new subfamily of trilobites, Brassicephalinae, is erected for Brassicephalus Lochman and Exigua Howell. Some distinctive forms not formally named are designated by letters. The strattigraphy of the recorded fauna of the Woods Corners Group (Cambrian) is summarized, and the Middle-Upper Cambrian boundary set as by Robison (1964) apparently falls below the base of the Skeels Corners. A supplemental note corrects errors in naming of these species in Part 8 of this series.
