Abstract

Nalivkinella echoense is common in the lower Marcellus Shale, in a thin limestone bed a few miles in extent, along with a single species of trilobite, gastropod, and auloporoid coral and a single goniatite cephalopod specimen. The species exhibits allometric growth, which is described; the cardinal septum fails to appear before the late neanic or ephibic stage of growth. The species is variable at all growth stages.
