Abstract

Numerous specimens of the type species of Millerella, M. marblensis, were collected from the base of the Big Saline Formation, Lower Pennsylvanian, in McCullock County, Texas. Tunnel formation by resorption, and secondary deposits in the form of chomata and epitheca, indicate that Millerella is correctly assigned to the family Fusulinidae. An atypical uncoiled variant of M. marblensis, closely related to the typical partially evolute form, may result as an extreme in variation of evolution of coiling with the species.
