Abstract

A rudist [mollusk] has been found in the late Cretaceous Bearpaw Formation of Saskatchewan - at a locality farther N. than any hitherto recorded in North America. It is doubtful to which genus the rudist should be referred, and no species quite like it has been described. The holotype of Ichthyosarcolites coraloidea (Hall and Meek) - the first rudist to be discovered in the Western interior of North America - is redescribed, and the Saskatchewan specimen compared to it.
