Abstract

Two small ostracode faunas are described from ancient bogs; the one, Sheets Gravel Pit near Fort Wayne, Indiana; the other, Orleton Farms near Columbus, Ohio. The age of the faunas is close to 12,000 years before present. Eight genera and 19 species could be identified. Two of them are new species and one new variety. Most of the species described here are still living and are inhabitants of a permanent lake with moderate vegetation.
