Abstract

Three new and one old species of Stringocephalus are described and credited to occurrence positions in the Middle Devonian of western Canada. The types of all 4 species are from the northern Rocky Mountains. Other occurrences are listed from Lake Winnipegosis outcrops, several boreholes across Saskatchewan and Alberta, and other outcrops in northern Alberta, northeastern British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. Formation nomenclature is examined and paleogeography is interpreted.
