D. H. W. Hutton & P. E. Brown write: We would like to congratulate Grocott et al. on their recent contribution to the ongoing debate about the rapakivi granites of Greenland. These flat, sheetlike, Proterozoic intrusions are considered by Grocott et al. (1999b) to have been intruded post tectonically, along regional, pre‐existing, flat‐lying banding, bedding and cleavages, by a mechanism of roof uplift and floor depression.
