Colombia’s geologic diversity is one of the most unique in the world. Situated in the northwestern end of the South American/western end of the Caribbean plates is the perfect “present-day” laboratory to study plate interactions and their implications for: subduction zones, present-day geomorphology, and hydrocarbon exploration potential.
