The spoken word struggles to accurately describe the pace and direction of technological advances in virtually every field, and seismic technology is no exception. So, our approach in this special section on working with 2D seismic data is to make our point by using a simple analogy, which we promise won’t involve engaging in sentimental ruminations on “the good old days” of paper sections and colored pencils.
