The Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) ranks as a global super basin, due to its large spatial extent as well as the presence of multiple prolific source rocks (MacKay, 2018). With an unusual diversity of low-permeability resource plays, a range of hydrocarbon are produced in the WCSB including dry gas, liquid-rich gas, or black oil.
