The ability to explore for hydrocarbon and safely drill through overpressured zones requires a multidisciplinary approach to understand geopressure mechanisms and difficulties in accurately predicting the distribution of geopressured formations using remote-sensing technology, such as seismic and the associated interpretation uncertainties.
