Seismic attributes are an integral part of modern 3D seismic interpretation workflows. Used in conjunction with seismic amplitude and 3D visualization, attributes accelerate conventional analysis and highlight subtle features that may otherwise be overlooked. Because attributes quantify frequency, amplitude, phase, and configuration of seismic reflectors, they serve as input to pattern recognition and clustering software to extrapolate seismic stratigraphic analysis generated on 2D slices to large 3D volumes.
