John Michael Moore was a B.Sc. and Honours graduate in Geology at the University of Cape Town, and Cape Town born and bred, and a baby-boomer sensu strictu, being born in September 1946. By 1972 John was employed as an exploration geologist, developing and fulfilling his lifelong love for exploration in its true sense of discovery and revelling in the intellectual and physical rigours of the discipline.
