We thank Colliston and co-authors for their comments on our paper and applaud their effort to start a debate about the tectonostratigraphic subdivision of the Namaqua-Natal Province. We think that it is important to debate the geological and scientific issues, rather than to follow Monty Python in a ‘we are right and you are wrong’ type of argument.
