Cover: The Yeşilkavak River in western Turkey is incising into the metamorphic rocks of the Menderes Massif as a result of recent uplift along the active Gediz Graben normal fault system. The cascades are part of the knick-zone that is migrating through the transverse river system as a result of an increase of fault slip rate ca. 0.8 Ma. See “Quantifying the competing influences of lithology and throw rate on bedrock river incision” by Kent et al., p. 1649–1664.
