Abstract

An examination of the taxonomic composition of the North American late Dresbachian faunules described to date indicates that there is an Aphelaspis Zone faunal assemblage characteristic of the early half of the late Dresbachian Stage and a Dunderbergia Zone faunal assemblage characteristic of the later half. The diagnostic elements of each of the assemblages are listed, and the biozones of the common trilobite genera are noted so that correct intracontinental correlations may be made.
