Some dolomitizations in the Jurassic beds of the Middle Helvetic Urirotstock Nappe can be attributed to events associated with the Alpine orogeny. This relationship, together with the occurrence of syntectonic chert deposits, suggests that pore solutions were active during the deformation. The precipitates from such fluids may be sensitive indicators of changes in tectonic environment.
