Abstract

The chronology of the Pleistocene lake stages of the Bonneville basin, Utah, based on a stratigraphic study of the exposed sediments, supplemented by radiometric dates, correlates fairly well with the chronology deduced from the study of the 650-foot Saltair core taken at the southeast margin of the Great Salt Lake. The exposed stratigraphic record is more definitive for the Wisconsin Stage, but the basin sediments hold a better record for the older stages of the Pleistocene.
