Abstract

The Tin Mountain landslide deposit in southeastern California consists of approximately 2.35 billion cubic yards of megabreccia. The megabreccia is due to landsliding from steep slopes produced by a fault. Thus, the Tin Mountain landslide deposit confirms the landslide interpretation proposed by many workers for numerous megabreccia occurrences in the Basin and Range province.
