Abstract
An earlier correlation of the Burchards Member of the Chipman Formation with part of the Emerson School Member of the Cassin Formation is revised. The Burchards is correlated with the lower part of the Bridport Dolostone of the Central Champlain Valley. The writer concludes that the term Burchards Member of the Chipman Formation should be restricted to the limestone at the base of the Beldens-Bridport sequence.
