Abstract

Selected books and articles on fluvial morphology are abstracted, and some of them are critically analyzed. The selection emphasizes typical, recurrent forms and the attempts to find physical laws governing their occurrence. Additional references are given. The bibliographic material is supplemented by an introduction which extends the survey to problems beyond those treated in this material and attempts a unification of the whole.
