Abstract
This paper gives the results of a detailed survey of the Paleozoic geology of the Whitehall quadrangle, New York-Vermont, west of the Taconic thrust. Reconnaissance work has been carried northward from this area through a large part of the adjoining Ticonderoga quadrangle. These are standard 15-minute quadrangles of the United States Geological Survey. The field work was done in the summers of 1935 and 1936.
This survey is the first attempt to use the divisions of the “Calciferous” formation, as established by Brainerd and Seely,1 for more than a local area. It is entirely through the use of these divisions that the results given in this paper were obtained.
