Abstract
The Mineralogical Society of America held a joint session with the Geological Society of America at 2 p. m., Monday, December 28, in the Sterling Chemistry Laboratory. President William B. Scott, of the Geological Society, was in charge, and petrological papers of the Geological Society were presented. At the close of the afternoon Dr. Arthur S. Eakle, of the Mineralogical Society, delivered his presidential address, “Needed extension in mineralogic instruction” which will be published in full in the March number of the American Mineralogist.
The Mineralogical Society of America held its sixth annual meeting at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, in conjunction with the Geological Society of America.
At 9 a. m. the meeting was called to order by President Arthur S. Eakle in Room 2 of the Sterling Chemistry Laboratory.
