The Society was called to order by the President, John C. Branner, at 9.30 o’clock a m, in room 116, the Geological Museum and Lecture room, of College Hall, University of Pennsylvania, where all of the sessions of the meeting were held except the evening session of this day.

The Council has held only one meeting during the year, in conjunction with the meeting of the Society at Saint Louis. Some business has been transacted by correspondence.
